Do you ever feel like the world is against you? Do you feel like no matter what you do, things are going wrong and nothing will ever get better? I understand that feeling. But how would it be if we could change our perspective to see more of the good in life instead of all of the bad? In this blog post, I am going to share with you three ways that may help shift your perspective on life.
In this blog post, I talked about approaching uncertainty with more fun and enjoyment. I believe that this is not only possible but very important.
So let’s dive in!
1. Change your routine
Depending on where you live, your kids are probably attending school from home or starting to go back to in person school. And while they still have a teacher no matter if they are home or in school, it may seem like you have to play a lot of different roles all at one time. What if you change your perspective and tell yourself that they need to be able take a freaking break for crying out loud, what about you too? It could help keep them and you from being overloaded. One way is by changing the environment where kids study: You can set up a desk in an area with no distractions like outside or another room! The second thing would be to have some options and flexibility to do something different.
This applies to everyday life as well, when you’re feeling too caught up in your work, or emotions, or just that giant to do list…it might be time to change perspectives and ask for help in order to change up the routine. “You need a break, take one!”
2. Look at things from a different angle
It can be hard to see things from a different angle or even admit that there is one. But when we’re caught up on a problem, or doing things the same way for too long it might be time to look at our situation with new eyes. It’s not always easy and can cause some discomfort but that is what change feels like! When you make an effort your brain becomes more flexible in how it approaches tasks which leads towards more creativity!
3. Try something new
What if you replaced “have to” with “get to”? Often we can find ourselves getting caught up in what we have to do and forget we have a choice. With that choice, you can try something new. Now, it’s not always fun and easy to try something new but what if you found a way that made the process easier? Maybe we can make an effort by breaking down tasks into smaller steps or focusing on one goal at time. It would be worth while trying this because then maybe your perspective will change…to see things differently!
No matter what, the situation will stay the same, but the way you look at it is entirely different. And at the end of the day, the way we approach things is what ultimately determines our life.
While it might not seem like it, you get to choose how you’ll deal with everything around you. You might as well choose what serves you.
